Notes for: _____ Ratzlaff
(A-14) The first Ratzlaff in our group. His first name is not known; he was motivated, after hearing a sermon, to thrust his sword into a hedgepost and break it. Was baptized and accepted our religion, and took the daughter of Elder Voth from Culm for his wife. The Alexanderwohl records indicate that his family may have come from Sweden.
"Der erste wieder mit Vornahmen geheissen ist unbekandt ist ein Soldat gewesen Von was Volck schwaden od: sonst ist unbekandt sol durch anhoeren der Predigt sein jedoch beugen[?] sein Schwert in ein hoher Pfost gestochen und entzwey gebrochen haben und auch endlich durch die Taufe unser Religion zugetan worden."
