Notes for: Johan Vogt

He migrated from Neustader Ellerwald, Prussia or Ginischke, Tilsit region, Lithuania, to Kronsweide, Chortitza, S. Russia in 1789 (P. Rempel, p. 26; B. H. Unruh, p. 258, 260). In the 1795 Chortitza Colony Census he is listed at Kronsweide #12 (B. H. Unruh, p. 242). In the 1797 Census he is still listed in Kronsweide (P. Rempel, p. 26). However, sometime between 1797 and 1801 he gave his homestead in Kronsweide to Franz Siemens and moved to Einlage, likely when he married Anna Unger, the widow of Jacob Giesbrecht. In the 1801 Census he is listed at Einlage #15 and in the 1808 Census at Einlage #11 (B. H. Unruh, p. 258).
